I'm on day 10 of the Master Cleanse. It's also called the lemonade diet. It's 10 days of drinking a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup and cheyanne pepper and NOTHING ELSE!!. I can't believe I haven't eaten anything solid for 10 days. The funny thing is I feel great and have tons of energy. I slept like a baby too. It's all about cleansing the toxins out of your body. I can feel it. I also lost about 10 lbs as well. This is my last day so tomorrow I can actually drink orange juice, then the next day drink vegetable broth, then the next day eat vegetables. I got to ease myself back into solid foods. I'm going to do this twice a year. I'm using it as a spring board into a healthier raw food diet. Good times!! peas.

Dublin Marathon Post-Race
Brutality is the word. Cold, clear and windy. Sweat froze on my body. Not enough layers. Hypothermic at the half way point. Too much alcohol and not enough water in the days leading up to the race. But hey, I was in Ireland. I walked for about 10 miles. Lesson learned. Next race; Rock n Roll Marathon, San Diego, June 1, 2008. Already running.

Training...
Ran about 7 miles last night after work. Did eight 2 minute intervals with 2 minute jogs in between. I've probably logged around 190 miles in my training so far for the Dublin Marathon. It feels good to run sometimes. Some days the stars are aligned just right and my body is strong. On those days I feel as though I can run at any speed for any length of time. Other days; not so much. Last night was an in-between day. I felt strong at times, but also tired and heavy other times. My trick to get myself out the door is to just commit to running 1 mile. After that one mile, I reevaluate whether or not I want to continue. 99.99% of the time I keep going. The body warms up and accepts the fact that I'm running. Running is great, it's my strategy to stay young and healthy. I'm 35 years old, I need to worry about these things now!!! Talk soon - Heath

Hello
Hello, I'm Heath. Just wanted to say hi. I've never had a blog so this is a little weird for me. I'm not one that feels comfortable with self-promotion. Blogs seem to be sort of narcisistic. But hey, it's the cool thing to do.
I'm training for a marathon in October in Dublin Ireland. Sounds like fun, so I'm in. I'll be raising money for the Leukemia Society. My dad unexpectedly passed away from Leukemia about a year and a half ago. I felt I should do something worthwhile so I ran the Vancouver Marathon a year ago while raising over $3,500 for Leukemia research. This time I need to raise about 2k. Should be reletively easy this time around. We'll see.
Ok, bye for now, Pictures coming soon. - peas - HJ
